God Sees Your Exhaustion and Is Restoring You Today

There's a tender exchange between us that few will ever see — I smile while my heart is breaking inside.

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Isaiah 40:28-31

There are mornings when the most exhausting part is simply putting on a presentable face. You know the one — the smile that doesn't quite reach your eyes, the automatic 'I'm fine' that slips out before anyone even asks. The performance of normalcy while everything inside feels hollowed out.

God is not fooled by that performance. He's not waiting for you to pull yourself together before He moves toward you. In fact, the exhaustion you're carrying — the kind that seeps into your bones and makes even small decisions feel monumental — is exactly what He's addressing.

The prophet Isaiah heard this word from the Lord: 'Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.' (Isaiah 40:28-29, ESV)

Notice the word 'even' in the next verse: 'Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted.' God isn't surprised by your depletion. He doesn't shake His head at your inability to keep pushing. Instead, He promises something extraordinary: that those who wait on the Lord will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.

That's not prosperity-gospel language. It's not a guarantee that life gets easier the moment you pray. What it is is an invitation into something different — a posture where you stop expending what little you have left and instead receive what God wants to pour into you.

Restoration doesn't always happen at the speed we want. But it happens. The parts of you that have been worn down by carrying weight alone — God is tending to those right now, in this very moment, if you'll let Him.

There's an image from today's video that I think will stay with you — about what it means to stop performing and start resting. If something here stirred in you, I'd love for you to watch it. Sometimes we need to hear the same truth spoken aloud to let it really land in our hearts.

Lord, I bring You the smile I've been wearing when my heart is breaking underneath it. I bring the weight I've been carrying alone. Teach me to stop performing and start receiving. Restore what exhaustion has worn down. Give me strength for today — not the kind I manufacture, but the kind You promise to supply. Help me rest in the knowledge that You see me fully, and You are not disappointed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
