God's Message: I Was Not Silent, I Was Preparing This for You

Why the season you thought was silence was actually a sacred rehearsal

"But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

Isaiah 40:31

There's a particular kind of quiet that feels like absence. You have lived inside that quiet. You prayed when no one was watching. You wrestled with questions in the dark. You showed up to quiet places hoping to hear something, anything, and the stillness stayed.

Maybe you started to wonder if God had forgotten you. Maybe the silence felt like a door closing.

But here is what today's message holds out to you: God was not silent. The quiet was not emptiness. It was the space where something was being shaped specifically for you.

Think of a potter's hands working clay. The clay cannot feel the artist's intention. It only knows the pressure, the turning, the long stretch of time before it becomes what it was made to be. That is not cruelty. That is formation.

The questions you carried were not thrown away. They became part of the answer. The exhaustion you bore in secret was not ignored. It was teaching your heart how to rest in something stronger than your own strength. The silent prayers were heard, received, and held.

God was not asleep. God was not distracted. God was preparing something that required your stillness, your uncertainty, your willingness to stay in the dark without a map.

That season is over now. Or perhaps it is ending. The potter is lifting the clay from the wheel. You will recognize it because it will fit you in a way that nothing before ever did. It will feel like coming home to a place you have never been.

There's a story I share in today's video about what this kind of preparation looks like from the inside — how it feels to finally understand why you had to wait. If this stirred something, sit with the video for five minutes.

"But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

— Isaiah 40:31

A prayer

Father, I confess that I have misread your silence. Forgive me for doubting that you were working when I could not see it. Thank you for the long seasons that felt like nothing but became everything. I trust that what you are preparing for me is good and purposeful. Today I choose to wait with hope instead of fear. Shape me in the quiet. I am ready to receive what you have made for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
