God's Message Today: Stop Letting Pain Define Who You Are
There is a lie so familiar it feels like your own voice — and God is ready to unravel it.
""Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.""
— Isaiah 43:1
Sometimes the most dangerous words we hear are the ones we start to believe as our own.
In the video, God speaks directly to the ache that many people carry quietly: the sense that they are fundamentally flawed, that they arrived too late, that they have to earn what was already given. That ache has a name. It is not from God.
When pain visits our lives, it leaves markers. Sometimes those markers are lies so repeated that they feel like truth — labels we absorb without checking the source. Words spoken in anger, in disappointment, in silence. These are the names the world assigned, not the name your Creator gave. And there is a difference between what was done to you and who you actually are.
Scripture makes this clear. In Isaiah 43, God says something radical: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine." He is not calling you by what you have done or what has been done to you. He is calling you by your true name — the one He gave you before the world started whispering its version.
This does not mean healing is instant. It does not mean the old voices disappear the moment we decide to stop listening to them. But it does mean there is a voice that is louder, older, and more reliable than every label you have collected along the way. And you get to decide which voice you follow.
There is an exercise I walk through in today's video — a simple but honest way to test which voice you have been obeying. I found it clarifying in my own life. If you have ever wondered why certain lies feel so familiar, this might be the conversation you have been waiting to have.
May you hear the voice that names you truly, today and always.
A prayer
Father, I confess that I have let pain speak louder than Your truth. I have worn names You never gave me. Today I return them to You. Help me hear Your voice when every other voice is familiar. Restore the name You wrote on my soul before the world started labeling me. I want to live as Your child — no more, no less. In Jesus' name, Amen.
