This Is Not Who You Are — God's Word for You Today

The lie you've believed about yourself doesn't get the final say — and there's a word straight from heaven that proves it.

"But now, this is what the Lord says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.""

Isaiah 43:1

There's a moment that catches you off guard — maybe you're scrolling through old photos, maybe someone says something cutting, maybe you just wake up and feel the weight of who you think you are. And the voice inside whispers: this is it. This is who you are.

But that voice is lying.

In Isaiah 43, God speaks to people who had every reason to believe they were ruined. They had failed, strayed, been exiled, forgotten. And yet God doesn't begin with a lecture. He begins with their name. "Jacob," He says. "Israel." He uses their identity as the foundation for everything that follows: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you." Think about that. Before any command. Before any promise. God anchors them in who they already are in His sight.

You may carry a label you've been given — by culture, by failure, by people who should have known better. But God doesn't operate on the world's arithmetic. He speaks creation into chaos. He calls things that are not as though they are. And what He calls you is clean, whole, known, chosen.

Paul writes in Romans that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Not "some" condemnation. Not "less" condemnation. None. The cross didn't partially address your shame — it finished the matter. If God has declared you His, no accumulated失败 can overwrite that verdict.

Here's the hard part, though: you have to receive it. Identity isn't just something declared over you — it's something you walk in. It means refusing to let yesterday's failure be your biography. It means looking at the mirror and practicing saying what God says, not what the enemy or your own doubt whispers.

There's something I go deeper into in today's video — a conversation about what it actually looks like to stop living from someone else's story and start living from who God says you are. If any of this stirred something, sit with the five-minute message and let it land.

Because the question isn't whether God's word is true. It is. The question is whether you'll let it be true for you today.

A prayer

Father, thank You that You know me by name and call me Yours. Forgive me for the times I've believed lies about who I am instead of Your truth. Help me to walk in the identity You've given me — not perfect, but Yours. Teach me to silence the voice of shame with the certainty of Your voice. I receive Your word today: I am redeemed, I am known, I am held. In Jesus' name, Amen.
